Epoxy, Polyurea & Polyaspartic Garage Floors
Compare complete installed systems, not just labels. A project may use one material for the base coat and another for the topcoat.
Epoxy
Epoxy is a commonly offered resin flooring option. Ask for the exact product, preparation requirements, UV exposure suitability and cure schedule. Professional systems should not be compared directly with a thin DIY paint kit.
Polyurea and polyaspartic systems
These materials are often offered for garage coating systems, including combinations of a polyurea base and polyaspartic topcoat. Installation temperature, working time and return-to-service depend on the actual products and site conditions.
Five questions worth asking
- What products and layers are included?
- How will you prepare and assess my existing slab?
- What happens if moisture or existing coatings create a problem?
- What texture and maintenance routine should I expect?
- What does the written warranty cover and exclude?
No coating makes every crack, movement or moisture issue disappear. The installer should explain limitations before work begins.
