Garage Floor Coating Quote Checklist
Two coating estimates can describe very different jobs. Use this checklist when discussing a garage in Bend, Redmond, Sisters or another Central Oregon community. It is a planning resource, not an inspection or installation specification.
Start with the existing slab
- What is the measured floor area, and are steps or stem walls included?
- Is there existing paint, sealer, oil staining or a failed coating to remove?
- How will the concrete be mechanically prepared?
- How will moisture and visible cracks be assessed?
- Which findings could change the scope or price?
Compare complete coating systems
Ask for the actual basecoat and topcoat products, the number of layers, decorative finish and texture. A label such as epoxy or polyaspartic alone does not describe the whole system. Ask which manufacturer's instructions will govern the installation.
Plan a winter installation
Ask how the provider will check site conditions, including slab temperature and moisture. Confirm safe access, ventilation arrangements and whether weather could move the date. Do not assume an unheated garage is suitable for every product.
Write down what is included
| Quote item | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Preparation | Removal, grinding, crack treatment and cleanup |
| Materials | Named products, layers, finish and texture |
| Price | Total scope, exclusions and process for additional work |
| Schedule | Install date plus separate foot-traffic and vehicle-return times |
| Warranty | Written coverage, exclusions and who handles a claim |
| Contractor | Business identity, current credentials, insurance and direct agreement |
What to send with your inquiry
Include your town, approximate dimensions, whether the garage is attached, visible damage or old coatings, and your ideal timing. The inquiry form does not accept photo uploads; ask the selected provider how to send photos when an introduction is arranged.
Why preparation and moisture questions matter
Coating manufacturer Resinwerks describes application conditions and moisture considerations in its garage installation guidance and material comparison. Follow the selected system's instructions and a qualified provider's assessment rather than treating this checklist as a specification.
Before you accept an estimate
Resolve unclear scope, exclusions, payment terms and warranty responsibility directly with the installer. Central Oregon Garage Floors is a referral project and does not take installation deposits or provide a workmanship warranty.
